Meet the Intern: Cara Robbins

Friday, September 12, 2025

Maria Rouzzo

Hey all! I'm Cara Robbins, a recent graduate from Cleveland State University with a major in Film and Media Arts (Writing/Producing) and a minor in International Relations. I'm someone who likes to keep my hands full by perpetually learning new things. I enjoy creating short films with my incredibly talented friends, writing screenplays, and taking on research projects about whatever topic sparks my curiosity. I also love a good crossword puzzle and I make a mean old-fashioned.

Storytelling is at the heart of what drives me. It provides the necessary tools to understand ourselves, others, and the world around us. Filmmaking is the most compelling to me because of its collaborative nature-- many creative people coming together to combine skills and perspectives into one story. This collaboration is what I love the most.

I'm so excited to start this internship because the Greater Cleveland Film Commission is at the heart of every movie that comes through Northeast Ohio. Everyone loves a good Behind-the-Scenes reel, but through this internship I get to pull back the curtain one level further.

With the help of the welcoming staff, I will see firsthand how GCFC brings films from all over the country to Cleveland, keeping our local film scene thriving. In this internship and beyond, I'm excited to build a reputation in the film industry as a reliable, enthusiastic, and driven person.

Ultimately, I hope to work as a producer, line producer, show runner, or show writer. I'm drawn to roles where I work in the nuts and bolts, take on messy challenges, and shape a story from conception to end credits.
