Why Are We In Such A Hurry

Bill Garvey, GCFC President
Dear member of the Ohio film and television industry,
Members of Congress and Senators are currently considering enacting a federal film and television production incentive to spur domestic production across all 50 states.
I am asking you to join me to publicly support this endeavor, which will keep and attract more production here in the United States and grow our industry in Ohio. Participation is entirely voluntary. An individual’s decision to participate, or not participate, in this letter of support will not be considered in determining eligibility for any program, incentive, opportunity, or service for which the individual may otherwise qualify.
Ohio’s state-level production incentive has been essential in attracting production investment and jobs. In recent years, foreign countries have drawn film and television production overseas by launching national production incentive policies that stack on top of provincial incentives. Ohio’s state-level incentive AND a federal production incentive are needed for us to compete.
The proposed U.S. federal incentive would deliver a huge economic boost, bring high-paying jobs back to the U.S., and keep this signature American industry at home.
AND we need your help to do this.
See the letter below to add your name to our letter urging passage of the federal film and television production incentive, addressed to members of the U.S. House and Senate representing Ohio. Your public support is the catalyst. With it, the bipartisan momentum already building in the House and the Senate will grow.
We seek signatures from members of the broad industry throughout Ohio, including crew, producers, actors, directors, vendors, and more. Please add your name, signature, and role/guild/profession in Ohio to this letter and complete this form by 11:59 PM ET on Sunday, September 13th, 2026. The signed letters of support will be delivered to our Senators and Representatives in Congress.
Please share this to others who live in or have worked in Ohio.
Together, we can revitalize the domestic film industry and bring enormous investment and good jobs to Ohio.
Best,
Bill Garvey
President, Greater Cleveland Film Commission
