Hi everyone! I’m Isabelle McBride, a recent Kent State alum (go Flashes!) born and raised in Cleveland. During my time at Kent State, I studied Fashion Merchandising and Digital Media Production. My dual studies led me on many creative ventures, whether it be assisting production for fashion shows, stage managing immersive theater, creating content for businesses, writing editorial content, or working on a film crew.
While having one foot in each industry, fashion and film, I learned what I love most: storytelling through sound, design, color, and movement. I find cinema to be the culmination of all these things. This is what led me to pursue interning with the GCFC, and I am so excited to dive deeper into the world of film with the Commission and connect with people in all levels of the industry.
When it comes to a movie or show, what matters most to me is a story that pulls you into the world of the characters, real or fantasy. Sound of Metal has been a long time favorite of mine for this reason, but some other honorable mentions are Good Will Hunting, Lord of the Rings, Fleabag, and Moulin Rouge.
With my career, I aspire to be a part of making those impactful stories come to life working within the art department. Film gives people the unique chance to discover something about themselves or experience a perspective they never would have otherwise, and every detail matters.
