My name’s Sean Sims. I’ve lived in Cleveland my whole life. I’m a rising junior at John Carroll, majoring in Communications. I was attracted to this internship because of my passion for storytelling and fascination with the work Cleveland has done for the film industry. My work during my internship will focus on the Film Commission’s social media channels, including creating posts for them.
I want to be a writer and screenwriter. I’ve written a few stories and scripts, such as for my school’s short film club, JCU Studios. Recently, those of us at JCU Studios created Studio Night Live, John Carroll’s version of Saturday Night Live. It was inspired by the sketches SNL cast member Marcello Hernandez made when he was a John Carroll student.
I also co-founded and serve as vice president of the After Hours Film Society, the university’s first club centered around film. There, we screen movies and host guest speakers. John Carroll’s Communication Department and I are producing a documentary exploring different perspectives on the JFK assassination, featuring key figures who have investigated it.
