While Ohio ultimately wasn’t chosen as the new home of the Sundance Film Festival, there are a number of movies either set in or that were filmed in the state.

A 41-minute pilot episode about a young filmmaker who captures the making of his first movie while shoulder-to-shoulder with fellow upstart creatives. Shot and set in the Ohio capital, it was made by brothers Julien and Justen Turner, two Columbus-based creatives.

Shot in Cleveland, Ohio, “Buddy” is a horror/sci-fi film directed by Casper Kelly and starring Cristin Milioti, Michael Shannon and Topher Grace. The film features a group of friends who must escape a kids television show.

‘Carousel’
