While every Tuesday can be a “Giving Tuesday,” the official recognition of the event this year falls on November 28, 2023. Giving Tuesday has been referred to as a “global generosity movement, unleashing the power of the people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. In simpler terms, #GivingTuesday is a day where folks are encouraged to do good for the places where they live, work, and play.
The Greater Cleveland Film Commission (GCFC) hopes that you will consider us as a source worthy of your investment.
The GCFC is a workforce and economic development 501(c)3 whose mission is to create jobs and economic impact for Northeast Ohio through a vibrant film and media arts industry. GCFC was the driving force behind the Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit (OMPTC) in 2009. Since then, over 300 projects have filmed in Ohio, bringing over $1.38 billion into Ohio’s economy, and creating over 7,092 full-time equivalent jobs. Between 60 – 70 percent of that impact benefits Clevelanders.
A prime example is the film White Noise which shot here in 2021, garnering $106.6 million dollars with 256 vendors, 921 crew jobs, 3000 background extras, and 36,000 hotel room nights. That is just for one project! We have already lined up $118 million in projects for 2024.
