TCT Director & Design Team Call | Winter 2027

Talespinner Children’s Theatre is seeking passionate and creative theatre
professionals to join our Winter 2027 production team for Stuart Little,
adapted by Joseph Robinette. All positions are PAID.

Positions Available

1. Director

We’re looking for a dynamic and imaginative Director to bring Stuart Little to life. The ideal candidate has experience working with young audiences, a collaborative spirit, and a flair for creative storytelling.

Responsibilities include:

-Directing the production from casting through final performances
-Collaborating with the creative and production teams
-Leading rehearsals and guiding the cast
-Working with designers to create an engaging and imaginative theatrical experience

2. Lighting Designer

We’re seeking a creative and collaborative Lighting Designer to develop an engaging lighting design that enhances the storytelling and supports the overall vision of the production.

Responsibilities include:

-Developing a lighting design in collaboration with the Director
-Creating lighting cues and necessary design documentation
-Participating in technical rehearsals and coordinating with the production team

3. Sound Designer

We’re seeking a Sound Designer to create an imaginative and engaging soundscape for Stuart Little. The ideal candidate understands how sound enhances storytelling and can develop a design that supports the production's creative vision.

Responsibilities include:

-Designing and sourcing sound effects and music as needed
-Collaborating with the Director and production team
-Preparing sound cues and playback materials
-Participating in technical rehearsals as needed

Production Timeline

Rehearsals: Winter 2027, dates to be determined

Performance Location: Rainey Institute, Cleveland, OH

Performance Dates & Times:

-Friday, February 19, 2027: 7:00 PM
-Saturday, February 20, 2027: 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM & 5:00 PM
-Sunday, February 21, 2027: 12:00 PM & 2:00 PM

Please note: Additional daytime matinee performances may be scheduled for Friday, February 19. Candidates should have daytime availability that day.

Ideal Candidates

-Have prior experience in their respective discipline
-Are strong communicators, problem-solvers, and team players
-Are creative, collaborative, and adaptable
-Are passionate about theatre for young audiences
-Have experience with professional or educational theatre (preferred but not required)
