NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio (WJW) – Moviegoers in Northeast Ohio will soon have a chance to experience films in the classic 70mm format at Phoenix Theatres Great Northern Mall.

“At nearly three times the image area of standard 35mm, 70mm film captures breathtaking resolution, vibrant color, and exceptional depth,” Phoenix Theatres Great Northern said in a press release.

“70mm is truly the pinnacle of organic film presentation,” said Cory Jacobson, President of Phoenix Theatres. “It offers a visual experience so detailed and immersive that it feels like looking through a window into another world. We are thrilled to bring this to the great state of Ohio and the Midwest region.”

Using restored reel-to-reel projectors, state-of-the-art sound, and a 42-foot screen, Phoenix Theatres will showcase both restored classics and select modern productions.

Tickets go on sale on Thursday, June 4. At this time, the theater hasn’t released a list of films for the 70mm format.
