CLEVELAND (WJW) – As we enter a new year, we’re looking back at some of the biggest stories we have covered in 2025.
From a Blockbuster film featuring Cleveland to a life-saving liver transplant for a Browns legend, we reflect on some of the biggest stories we’ve covered in 2025.
In July, Superman flew into theaters.
Once again, it thrusts Cleveland into the spotlight.
President of the Greater Cleveland Film Commission, Bill Garvey, said, “Amazing how many times you see the trailer in the last month. Right. And 75% of that trailer is Cleveland. So we’re reestablishing Cleveland as Metropolis in its rightful place, right?”
Director James Gunn said it was important to film in the city where Superman was born, including several nods to Cleveland natives Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, who created the character in the 1930s.
