MEDINA, Ohio (WJW) — A little Christmas romance has come to Northeast Ohio.

Castle Noel confirmed on social media that it allowed a holiday movie to be filmed on its Medina premises earlier this week.

Owners Mark and Dana Klaus posted photos and video of the crew, actors and extras from the upcoming film “The Great Chocolate Christmas Date” on Monday.

“They’re a great group to work with and I wish you all the best,” the owners wrote on Facebook, accompanying a photo of the team dressed up in dazzling outfits under thousands of holiday lights.

In one of the videos, Mark spoke with director Lindsay Korman-Hartley, who you may recognize for her work on “Passions,” about how Castle Noel was the perfect location for the film.

“This is Disneyland for Christmas, you feel like a child,” she told Mark.

She also teased the plot of the film, which filmed in other areas of Northeast Ohio and is slated for a release next December: It’s about a chiropractor and a chocolatier who fall in love. The two reportedly end up at Castle Noel for their first kiss.

“It doesn’t get more meta than a Christmas movie filmed at a place about Christmas movies,” one fan wrote in the Facebook comments.

A prop from the movie is also going to be on display for visitors to see in person. It’s not yet clear where you’ll be able to watch the movie, so stay tuned for announcements in the months to come.
