Meet the Intern: Maggie Lardie

Thursday, September 11, 2025

Maria Rouzzo

Hi! I’m Maggie, a recent graduate of The Ohio State University and lifelong resident of Cleveland. I love reading, playing piano, and spending time with my sister. During my time in college, I studied English and screenwriting, developing my passion for writing and filmmaking.

I’ve experimented with many forms of writing over the years, including short stories, poems, nonfiction articles, and of course, screenplays. I am in the process of developing two original scripts with the goal of eventually producing them into short films. I post a lot of my writing on my Instagram, which is @maggielardie.

This summer, I completed Tri-C’s Production Assistant Workshop, where I gained valuable knowledge of the tasks required of a PA on a film set. Since then, I’ve done PA work for multiple projects, including the film my fellow GCFC interns and I made for this year’s 48-Hour Film Project. When needed, I also fill in other roles, such as boom operator, set decorator and actress.

I was drawn to the GCFC because of their immense knowledge about the local film industry. Their mission to bring productions to Cleveland has already helped many people discover their dream career. With their help, I hope to make connections, assist productions and take action toward achieving my own goals.

I’ve always been fascinated by clever writing, witty humor and the impact a film can have on its audience. My favorite TV shows include The Haunting of Hill House and Fleabag because they push the conventions of their genre and make the viewer think. I hope to reflect these qualities in the scripts I write. It would be a dream come true to create stories that impact others the way my favorite shows have impacted me.

I want to thank the GCFC for this opportunity. During my time here, I’ve learned invaluable information and met so many kind people. I’m truly grateful for the experience.

Thanks for reading!
