Movie to chronicle life of artist Jean-Michel Basquiat

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Cleveland native Kid Cudi is writing, directing and starring in “Jean,” a film chronicling the life of artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Cudi made the announcement Wednesday on Facebook, saying that for years people have asked him about portraying Basquiat.

He said he decided to stop waiting for someone else to take on the project and do it himself.
