Learn how to transform existing intellectual property (IP)—including books, podcasts, social media threads, and more—into compelling scripts for film and television with Monice Mitchell Simms.

Simms is a multi-award-winning WGA screenwriter, author, filmmaker, and showrunner recognized for her specialized expertise in adapting complex intellectual property across literature, stage plays, and social media for film, television, audio, and vertical series platforms. As a writer-for-hire, Simms excels at breathing new life into published works. Her key credits include serving as a staff writer on the BET+ series All the Queen’s Men, adapted from the novel Ladies Night. She also penned the feature film Redeemed, a highly successful screen adaptation of the novel Serving Justice, currently streaming on Tubi.

Beyond her screen projects, Simms adapted her own historical fiction debut novel, Address: House of Corrections, into a critically acclaimed scripted podcast.
