Small business champion, Congresswoman Shontel Brown who represents Ohio’s 11th Congressional district, hosted her annual Small Business Expo & Conference at Corporate College in Warrensville Heights on May 3, 2026.  The well attended session featured business resource tables including the Greater Cleveland Film Commission (GCFC), as well expert presenters and speakers who shared with small business owners and entrepreneurs primarily from underserved communities, seeking to expand their respective businesses and opportunities in NE Ohio and beyond.  GCFC Chief Diversity, Vice President Corporate & Community Engagement Lowell Perry manned a resource table where he interfaced with dozens of entrepreneurs interested in vendor opportunities in the local film production industry.  New GCFC board member LaRese Purnell, Founder & Managing Partner of CLE Consulting was part of the Expo’s opening session panel on moving from “Survival to Scale” where attendees learned about changing business trends and what they needed to do to move forward in the current economy.
