Urbanworld Film Festival is now accepting submissions!

Urbanworld Film Festival is now accepting submissions for its 27th Annual festival happening November 1st – 5th, 2023. The Urbanworld Film Festival is a 5-day festival, based in New York City. This Academy Award-qualifying festival showcases narrative and documentary features, short films, web originals, music videos, spotlight screenings, and conversations, and live staged screenplay readings.

March 26th is the Early Bird Deadline for submissions. The Regular Deadline is April 28th with a Late Deadline on May 26th. And if you’re still working on your project come Spring, there’s an Extended Deadline on June 9th.



The Urbanworld Film Festival, founded in 1997 by Stacy Spikes, is one of the largest internationally competitive festivals of its kind. Since inception, Hollywood studios, indie film distributors, and established and emerging filmmakers have consistently chosen Urbanworld to premiere box office and award-winning hits.

The Urbanworld Film Festival is an initiative of the Urbanworld Foundation Inc., a nonprofit organization that redefines and advances the presence and impact of the multicultural community in cinema and cross-platform media.
