The Kosinima Short Film Grant is now accepting submissions.
Deadline is May 15th, 2023.
The KOSINIMA Short Film Grant awards $2,500 to 4 filmmakers in Africa or the African diaspora (including Europe, the United States, the Caribbean, and Latin America) each year. The grant can be used for the Production (i.e. hiring crew, securing locations, paying talent) and/or Post-Production of short films (no development or pre-production expenses).
Submissions close May 15th, 2023
Who is eligible? Female/femme filmmakers, 18 and over, who identify as Black from the African continent or African diaspora.
What projects can submit? Short films that have a femme person in *one* or *all* of the following roles: Director, Producer, Writer. The film must have themes of identity and/or community. Films can be a Documentary or Narrative, any genre, in any language, but must be subtitled in English.

KOSINIMA is a non-profit organization with 501c3 status, founded by filmmaker Oluwaseun Babalola. Its main objectives are:
- to advance lasting solutions that bridge the cultural and creative gaps between Africa and African diaspora
- to create funding opportunities for Black creatives
