Access and Inclusion Manager

  • Position type: Full time
  • Salary Range: $41,500-$56,600
  • Reports to: Director of Human Resources
  • Areas of focus: accessibility and inclusion, talent management and development

The Access & Inclusion Manager (A&I Manager) will develop and implement Cleveland Play House’s diversity initiatives to attract, hire, support, and retain a diverse workforce. The A&I Manager will be focused on the needs of all CPH staff, guest artists, and apprentices. The A&I Manager will be a critical part of developing CPH’s access and inclusion strategy across the organization. This position will work collaboratively with the human resources department and across the organization to build an inclusive, anti-racist culture. CPH has a very active commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) and is working across the organization to achieve comprehensive EDI goals. The A&I Manager will be instrumental in building policies and practices that support that work. This is a new position that is part of the newly created Human Resources Department.

Artistic Associate

  • Position type: Full time; year round
  • Salary Range: $32,000 – $37,000

CPH is seeking an Artistic Associate to join the artistic team. This position will be a combination of artistic administration & logistics, dramaturgy, and season planning. Artistic Associate will work closely with CPH’s Artistic Digital Associate. Artistic Associate will also interface with the Artistic Director, Artistic Producer, Director of Artistic Inclusion, and the Producing Associate. Required experience: participation in new play development & workshop processes, familiarity with contemporary theatre artists (especially playwrights & performers), navigating search engines/archives databases/library catalogs, and familiarity with trends, advances, and platforms in digital artistic programming.

Artistic Digital Associate

  • Position type: Full time; Seasonal: August 23, 2021- June 30, 2022
  • Salary Range: $26,000 – $31,000

CPH is seeking an Artistic Digital Associate (ADA) to join the artistic team. The ADA will manage the technical and logistical aspects of CPH’s digital enrichment programs and audition processes. Artistic Associate will work closely with CPH Artistic Associate. Artistic Digital Associate will also interface with the Artistic Director, Artistic Producer, Director of Artistic Inclusion, Digital Access Producer, and the Producing Associate. Required experience: creating, filming & editing online content, working collaboratively on a creative team, and project management.

Associate Sound and Projection Supervisor

  • Position type: Full-Time; Year Round
  • Salary Range: $30,000-$35,000
  • Desired Start Date: August 2, 2021
  • Work Schedule: Based on 40 hrs a week typically 9 to 5:30 M-F; During Load in and Tech additional night and weekend hours as coordinated with supervisor.

CPH is seeking an Associate Sound and Projections Supervisor to join the production team. This position will be a combination of projection and audio design implementation and coordination. Relevant experience: previous Sound and/or Projection Experience; previous experience in theatrical, concert, or event audio and projections; previous experience in A/V equipment and safety.

Associate Technical Director

  • Position type: Full-Time; Year Round
  • Salary range: $37,000-$41,000
  • Desired Start Date: August 2, 2021
  • Work Schedule: This position will have a schedule that will fluctuate. It will included certain weeks within the window of Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30a.m.-5:00 p.m. and also occasional night/weekend shifts to support the tech/preview process connected to productions.

CPH is seeking an Associate Technical Director to join the production team for the 2021-22 season. Relevant experience: Carpentry, Props, or Production Management; Construction; Engineering, Rigging.

Digital Access Producer

  • Classification: Full Time, Seasonal, Salaried
  • Salary Range: $37,000-$42,000
  • Start Date: September 7, 2021
  • Contract End: June 30, 2022
  • Schedule: This position will have a schedule that aligns with the CPH rehearsal/preview performance schedule. Regular evening/weekend work will be required.

CPH is seeking a Digital Access Producer to join the artistic team for the 2021-22 Season. This position will be responsible for managing the scheduling, filming, and editing processes of the live productions of the CPH Mainstage Season, CWRU/CPH MFA Fall production, Classroom Matinee Touring Program’s spring production, and content for CPH’s Annual Benefit. This position will also be responsible for coordinating with the Marketing department on the streaming components of these productions and Inside CPH Programs. Desired Experience and Skills include: good communication and organizational skills, comfort working in collaborative environments, attention to detail, prior experience in project management on either film, theatre or live events, basic film editing skills, knowledge of storyboarding, and prior knowledge of LORT agreements with AEA, SDC and USA is helpful, but not required.

Director of Artistic Inclusion

  • Salary Range: $55,000 – $62,000

The Director of Artistic Inclusion (DAI) will be a member of the senior leadership team and artistic staff. This person will participate, with decision-making influence, in the full season planning process, with a focus on casting and creative team selection. The DAI will co-lead a cross-departmental Equitable Artistic Practices Team to promote and maintain a joyful, collaborative, inclusive, and anti-racist culture for artistic processes. The DAI will be a theatre-maker whose primary creative expression is Directing, Musical Direction, Design, Voice & Speech Direction or Choreography.

The Director of Artistic Inclusion will closely collaborate with: Artistic Producer, Access and Inclusion Manager, Literary Manager and Resident Dramaturg, Director and Associate Directors of Production, Director of Community Partnerships and Programming, Director of Education and Artistic Strategies, Senior Leadership team, and 8-10 members of the cross-departmental Equitable Artistic Practices Team.

The Director of Artistic Inclusion will be the primary CPH contact with national Casting Directors. This position has no direct reports but will be supported by the Artistic Associate, Artistic Digital Associate, and Producing Associate.

Required experience: casting, project leadership and management, educated in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-racist theatre practices, professional theatre-making as a Director, Musical Director, Designer, Choreographer or Vocal coach.

Electrician (Outcalt Theatre)

  • Position type: Full-Time; Seasonal; Non-Exempt

CPH is seeking an Electrician (Outcalt Theatre) to join the production team for the 2021-22 season. Relevant experience: previous Run Crew Experience; previous experience in theatrical, concert, or event lighting; previous experience in electrical wiring and safety; experience staying alert and focused during long periods of inactivity.

Producing/Company Management Associate

  • Classification: Full Time, Year Round, Salaried
  • Salary Range: $32,000-$37,000
  • Start Date: August 23, 2021
  • Schedule: This position will primarily work Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:30pm with periodic evening/weekend/early morning hours connected to CPH production schedule.

CPH is seeking a Producing/Company Management Associate to join the artistic team. Desired Experience and Skills include: good communications and organizational skills, comfort working in collaborative environments, attention to detail, comfort with interacting with a wide range of staff, guest artists and outside constituents on a daily basis, comfort with adapting to schedule changes and shifting priorities based on guest artist needs, ability to work in Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and Outlook preferred, prior knowledge of LORT agreements with AEA, SDC and USA is helpful, but not required, prior experience working in live theatre or events is helpful, but not required.

Production Office Assistant

  • Position type: Full-Time; Year Round
  • Salary range: $30,000-$35,000

CPH is seeking a Production Office Assistant to join the production team. This position will be a combination of production organization, office work, and logistics.  Relevant experience: Stage, Company, or Production Management; budget spreadsheets; expense tracking and reconciliation. Required skills: attention to detail; creative thinking and problem solving; ability to summarize complex ideas; collaboration; time management; Capacity to solve problems and engage in creative thinking about challenges; Ability to brainstorm ideas in a group setting; Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Prop Artisan

  • Position type: Full Time; Seasonal; Non-Exempt
  • Pay range: $15.50/hour; $620.00/week
  • Desired Start Date: August 23, 2021
  • End Date: May 6th, 2022
  • Work hours/Schedule: Shop hours are 8:00-4:30 weekdays, occasional overtime and weekend hours

CPH is seeking a Prop Artisan to join the production department. This position will be responsible for sourcing, crafting, and altering a wide range of items for our Mainstage, Education and Special Event Productions. Relevant experience: Any hands-on experience working with a wide range of materials and items. Working in a fast-paced environment with hard deadlines. Required skills: Sewing and upholstery; molding and casting; painting and staining; multi-material crafting; knowledge of a wide range of craft and art products; electronics and wiring; Photoshop or similar program; ability to be an independent worker and problem-solver; ability to communicate and collaborate with a team.

Scenic Carpenter

Stage Crew, Full Season

  • Position type: Full-Time; Seasonal; Non-Exempt
  • Pay range: $15.23/hour
  • Desired Start Date: September 6, 2021
  • End Date: May 27th, 2022
  • Work Schedule: Primarily evening/weekend Tuesday through Sunday depending on show schedule. During non-tech/performance weeks, the Full Season Stage Crew position will be assigned to other Production Departments to learn additional skills needed for backstage work

CPH is seeking a Full Season Stage Crew to join the production team for the 2021-22 season. The Full Season Stage Crew will primarily work on CPH shows in various backstage roles depending on the needs of the show. This may include Stage Crew, Wardrobe, Sound, Lighting, Projections. When shows are not happening during the season the Full Season Stage Crew will work with CPH Production Departments to learn additional backstage skills. Relevant experience: previous Run Crew Experience; Wardrobe; Sound; Lighting; Projections; Experience staying alert and focused during long periods of inactivity.

Wardrobe Supervisor

  • Pay: $16.00/hour; $640.00/week

CPH is seeking a Wardrobe Supervisor to join the production team for the 2021-22 season. Relevant experience: Costume and wig construction, Wardrobe experience. Required skills: Knowledge of general clothing and costume construction; Ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources and guide the creation of solutions to needs; Experience leading a team while attending to the needs of the show; attention to detail; creative thinking and problem solving; ability to summarize complex ideas; collaboration; time management; Capacity to solve problems and engage in creative thinking about challenges; Ability to brainstorm ideas in a group setting; Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
