BEXLEY — On Saturday, May 3, the film “Battersea” made its Ohio debut during the 2025 Cinema Columbus Film Festival at the historic Drexel Theatre in Bexley.
Written by Jad Adkins and T.J. Sandella, their debut film captivated the audience with its quiet, powerful portrayal of grief, memory and the delicate bond between estranged siblings.
As the theater lights dimmed and the opening scenes unfolded on the screen, the tone was immediately clear—this was not a film that would rush its story. Instead, “Battersea” invited the viewer to slow down, to observe and to feel. With its understated performances, deliberate pacing, and hauntingly restrained cinematography, the film drew the audience into the raw emotional terrain of a family struggling to reconnect after loss.
