1/26/17 - Angela Boehm Casting is handling extras casting for the feature film "Untitled Detroit City" project.

Anyone interested in becoming an extra, please go to and fill out the free registration application, if you have not already done so. If you have filled out the registration in the past, DO NOT fill it out again, you will be hearing from the casting team soon.

They are also looking for several 1960-1982 cars of any color. Owners must have the flexibility to bring to set any day between March and June.



1/20/17 - There is an open casting call for 6 to 9-YEAR-OLD BOYS for the lead in a new STEVEN SPIELBERG feature film, THE KIDNAPPING OF EDGARDO MORTARA, shooting in SPRING 2017.

"EDGARDO" – BOY, age 6-9. Unique & very challenging part for a truly special, curious & intelligent boy w/a mischievous streak who appears to be Jewish & Italian. The story deals w/the complexity of an extremely intelligent & gifted child's situation – his desire to return to his family & the faith of his ancestors, pitted against his ability to learn the Catechism & engage w/the Pope on a level far beyond his years (not looking for any kind of Italian accent).

1/24/17 - The Owens Group is a public relations agency with a focus on handling major motion picture studios to bring awareness for their films to moviegoers in the Midwest. Studios include Sony Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures, Lionsgate, Focus Features, CBS Films and Roadside Attractions.  

Ambassador Description & Responsibilities: The Marketing & Public Relations (PR) ambassador will be primarily responsible for promoting films to the college demographic on and around Cleveland’s campuses. Interns will be required to attend on campus events and distribute promotional materials, secure promotional giveaways on college radio stations and newspapers, and generate social media posts from organizations.  Responsibilities include:

  • Organizing and executing events for each assigned film such as student union activities, Greek life events, sporting events and on campus retail displays
  • Attending advance screenings of films and recording audience reactions and comments
  • Generating promotional ideas for upcoming marketing campaigns
  • Online research and phone calls to secure local college retail partners
  • General assistance to supervisors with office duties 

Required skills/training:Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; strong campus involvement; proficient internet research skills; well developed communication skills; strong knowledge and use of social media; ability to work independently; self motivated; effectively contribute to a team atmosphere; attention to detail. 

Preferred hours & Pay:10-12 (combination of in and out of office hours)  College Credit is encouragedPay is compensated through monthly studio stipend and events

1/12/17 - The Talent Group (, one of Cleveland and Pittsburgh’s top agencies for Actors and Models, is currently seeking applicants for the full-time positions of Talent Agent and Junior Talent Agent for their Cleveland office.

These positions offer a wonderful opportunity for someone looking to work and grow with a fast-paced but established company in the entertainment industry.

Applicants must be well organized, conscientious, reliable, creative and possess excellent communication skills. Although no entertainment industry experience is required, an interest in theater, film or acting (or the entertainment industry in general) is a definite benefit. Since this is a fast-paced industry, candidates must be hard-working, flexible, able to multi-task and have lots of self-initiative.




James Madio Studios, in association with the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival, presents an ongoing, advanced class designed for serious actors. Under the direction of award-winning actor, director, writer and producer James Madio, actors will develop the physical skills and auditioning skills needed to be a successful actor in film and television. Study will include:

  • Monologues
  • Improvisation
  • Character Breakdown
  • Scene Study
  • Sensory Work
  • Audition Essentials
  • Industry Ethics/Terminology
  • Relaxation

Classes are held weekly on Thursdays, 6:30 to 9:30pm.  Cost is $175 per month.  Classes will be held in the offices of the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival at 49 W. Orange St. (Coach House Square), Chagrin Falls, OH 44022.  Class size is limited, and only actors 18 and older may attend.

UPDATE: Second class added on Tuesdays, 6:30-9:30pm. Classes meet weekly. Auditions will be held Thursday, January 19th and again on January 26th from 5:30 to 6:30pm. Prospective students should prepare a 1-3 minute monologue for their audition.

Motion Picture Intensive 5 Week Training Workshop

This program is designed to prepare future film and media technicians and crew members for entry-level positions in the industry. It was developed with the help of the Greater Cleveland Film Commission and IATSE Local 209. The course provides a unique opportunity to learn directly from professionals successfully working on Cleveland feature film and commercial sets.

Introduction to Stunts & Special Effects

This two-day workshop is an introduction to the world of stunts, special effects, pyrotechnics and weapons handling found on movie sets.  Instructor Richard Fike is an experienced Stunt and SFX Coordinator and certified weapons handler with a large list of movie credits on his resume.  In this workshop, Richard Fike and his stunt team will show participants how to throw & take punches, kick, fall, handle stunt guns and knives, what protective gear to wear, explain stunt equipment & terms, and most importantly how to do all of this safely. All participants will be required to sign a participation release form and be physically capable of jumping, tumbling, & falling.

Find Your Voice - Voice Acting Class

Find Your Voice-Voice Acting Class with Jean Zarzour, a 30 year  veteran on TV, film, Voice Overs and stages across America.  You'll learn voice over technique and the best practices for marketing your skills at the same time! In this 8-week course, you will explore a range of “reads,” including:

Film & TV Makeup Class

This course teaches you the essential skills and techniques in applying Hi Definition makeup needed for film, television and theatre auditions and performance. This course is not designed to certify you as a makeup artist, however, in many cases such as TV and film auditions, there is not a makeup artist available to get you “camera ready”. So, you'll learn how to apply your own makeup as well as how to apply it on others for those rare times when a makeup artist isn't available on a job and to help you fine tune your technique for doing your own makeup. So, be prepared to get up close and personal with your classmates!
